NTSB Cautions About NEXRAD

(NTSB) cautions pilots about in-cockpit (NEXRAD)

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is cautioning pilots to be aware that in-cockpit Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) information can be up to 15-20 minutes older than indicated on the display and that relying on such information for real-time reports can cause safety problems when aircraft are transiting fast-moving weather systems.

Interior: 

  • 6 Premium Leather Seats in khaki leather with adjustable backrests and folding armrests.  Redesigned cockpit side panels for increased width.  Pilot and Co-Pilot seats are vertically adjustable, feature lumbar support and flat folding co-pilot and rear facing seats provide improved access to the cockpit. 

  • 110 volt outlets are positioned between the pilot seats and in the Rear cabin.

  • The floor covering is Beige wool carpeting with an additional Wool Carpet runner for added protection. The lower sidewalls are Dark Khaki leather and the upper sidewalls and headliner are ultra leather in Cool White.
  • Each main cabin seat has its own reading light, air vent and pleated window shade.  The cabin features LED lighting and the club seating area has an Executive Writing Table.

  • An aft baggage net sections the baggage compartment from the main cabin.  A relief tube is easily accessible from the cockpit and main cabin.

  • N685CA is painted with DuPont Imron Polyurethane paint.

  • The Base color is White over Black Metallic with Silver Platinum stripes - Super Sharp Scheme.  

  • The Black Metallic base color shows less sooting.

  • Registration Numbers are Black Metallic with Silver Platinum Shadow.

  • The lower cowling features a Stainless Steel Fastener Kit.
